Lagos and Abuja residents defy lockdown order, troop out en-mass to exercise, drive around (photos/video)

Recordings and photographs of Lagos and Abuja occupants resisting the lockdown request of the Federal government has surfaced on the web.

Twitter user @Engr_Series shared a video of residents of Lagos state exercising on the now deserted Ikorodu road. He wrote
''So much for social distancing. The gym moved to Ikorodu this morning, from Haruna down to Agric busstop... Is this really a lockdown?''

In Abuja, a video posted by Abubakar Sidiq, the Special Assistant to the Senate President on New Media, shows traffic jam at the overhead bridge along Citec road in Abuja.

President Buhari on March 27th, gave a presidential directive that Lagos, Ogun and Abuja be on lockdown to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The lockdown is meant to expire next Monday April 13th.
